Using our e-media at home

Digital services marked with
can be used by all users, regardless of their location. This also applies to our digital collections.
- Tip: Use the search filter "online"!
- Restrict your search result with the filter Access mode - online. This will give you a list of all e-media in the UCL-Portal under location.
- If you are a member of the university, select the filter E-Medien an der Universität (e-media at the university)
- As an external user you select the filter E-Medien mit freiem Zugriff (e-media with free access).
Our digital services plus search tips
- More than 4 Mio. e-books, approx. 150,000 e-journals and approx. 1,650 databases are available to you as usual via the UCL-Portal.
Since 16 March 2020, over 16,000 e-books from the publishers Duncker & Humblot, Mohr Siebeck , Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht and Pearson have been added for a limited period of time. The best-used titles will be permanently added to the e-book collection of UCL Cologne at the end of the term.
Tips:
- Search in "Books & more": After the search you can filter your results. Under Access mode, select the entry online. You will then receive a reduced list of all e-media in the UCL-Portal under Standort (location).
- Search in "Articles & more": With Limit results to full text you can limit the display of your search results to full texts.
- Learning videos about LinedIn Learning
Students and employees* of the University of Cologne can access about 14,000 learning videos in the "LinkedIn Learning" database (German)
